I am doing some computer work for a friend. His son installed Endpoint Protection on his PC so he (the son) would be able to connect to his employer's corporate network. The son is no longer living at home and is no longer employed. My friend would like to remove the Endpoint. He does not have a valid license as it was licensed through his son's former employer. His son did not leave the employer on good terms.

I've tried accessing your web site for help but the owner of the PC is not a customer and his son is not of any help.

He is running Win XP Media Edition SP 3 and Endpoint Protection version 11.0.6200.754

When I tried to uninstall using control panel I received a fatal error.

Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

    Ron

P.S. I don't know very much about the product so I did the best I could in answering the below questions.

Try the cleanwipe tool to remove, deifnately you will get sucess to removing. In case SEP not removed sucess then try the thrid party software "Revo Uninstaller Pro ".

Since its a third party tool, use it at your own risk!

i'd say manual remove as Thomas suggested...

There also CleanWipe that should help you but you need to call Symantec to get a case number.

So i would do a manual unistall.
