This issue has been solved. See solution.

Hi Guys

I am deploying SEP MR3 on my network I was trying to uninstall the Symantec Corporate 10 client from a windows XP machine when i got fatal error and the uninstall stoped with the below event ID in event viewer event id 11725

Any suggestions on how to fix this or a total removal third party utility would be highly appreciated coz I dont beleive manually going into every registry key and deleting it is the best practice...

Thanks in advance guys

Cheers...

reboot on safe mode desable Symantec services

Hi guys,

I managed to solve this by rebooting to safe mode desabling symantec services then rebooting on windows normal mode then uninstall.

Im still not clear on some points I would highly appreciate if someone could answer the below..

Is this a healthy way of doing it?
Was the reboot the key for solving this or was it stopping the services?
What exactly was cozing this?

Cheers,

Cleanwipe

Symantec has a tool by the name cleanwipe made for such occasions ONLY. You can get a copy of it from the technical support by calling them in.

De facto when AV does something, it starts jumping up and down, waving its arms, and shouting "Hey!  I found a virus!  Look at me!  I'm soooo goooood!"
