Client Management Suite

Has anyone uninstalled the Symantec Management Agent (Altiris Agent) from their Notification Server and then reinstalled it to a different drive?  I basically want to move the Altiris Agent from D: to E: so that Package Services will not fill up my D: drive.  I want D to retain all other Altiris system files such as the NSCAP directory.  I am a little paranoid about doing the removal and reinstall since the agent is installed as part of the initial install.  Any input is appreciated.

Since the guid would almost assuredly be the same, there will be no issues. So I give you a 99.9% success (Murphy always rides along, preventing the .01%).

If you're using patch management and software delivery, I would configure the patch download location to be a different location, and if need be change the software library location as well. If you change the patch location, there is a task that can be run to update all the current patch packages (move the files, change the .xml). If you move the software library, it could be a bit more tricky or at least time consuming, as I don't believe there is a migration task.

  Thanks for the reply.  I've actually got the Software Library and the Patch download location on the E: drive.  This was something that was thought about ahead of time.  It is the actual Package Services that is messing me up.  Since Altiris installed on D: it installed the agent there as well.  Package Services were enabled by default and by default create the package store in the Altiris Agent directory.  I also have Altiris looking into this since it is version 7.  I was hoping that maybe someone out in the real world had tried it.

If you move Software Library, you can either move all the programs to the new location, or leave them behind at the old location and convert them to UNC paths.  There's a third option that doesn't occur to me right now.
