  • 1.  Unknown Image Format Code 64: Later Ghost Version Required

    I created 14 unique images for similar hardware in a training lab using the latest ghost.exe version. I can unicast these images by bootcd accessing ghost.exe from the server. All the images transfer correctly. Now I wanted to create bootable DVD's as I have in the past and I get the above error. Using the same ghost.exe version, the DVD boots to a ghost screen with the error above.  I've done this multiple times on the same hardware, in fact everything else is the same as well; media, boot files, DVD software (Nero). The Autoexec ghost command line reads;

    GHOST -CLONE,MODE=LOAD,src=R:\ST01.GHO,DST=1 -FNI -RB -SURE

    Did I leave out a switch?

    I even tried using older ghost.exe versions, same error occurs!

    Hi Harry,

    You would have found this already, but the reason is Ghost.exe you use is a older version than the one used for creation.

    I am using the same ghost.exe version that I created the image with.  I can connect to the server and ghost the image to a pc flawlessly. However when I use the same image with the same ghost.exe version on a bootable DVD I get the Unknown Image Format Code 64 error. I've made hundreds of bootable dvd's previously, one is spanned across 6 DVD's and it has worked flawlessly. The image is not corrupt, any other ideas as to why it's happening?

    Hi Harry,

    I know it is difficult when booting from DVD, but did you managed to get the Ghost error file out? If the machine has a FAT partition, you can save it there.
