    Hi,

I have installed SEE Management Server on a server. I created the client installer packages.

Can I use the installer on machine that is not connect to the management server?

What does the management server function as? What does the database used for?

    Hi,

Please do the following and I think you sshould get through.

To install clients using the 'Find unmanaged clients' tool in Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager, follow the below steps:

    1. Click the Clients tab in the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager
    2. In the left pane select Find Unmanaged Clients under the Tasks.
    3. In the Find Unmanaged Computers window you can search for the clients two different ways:
    a. Using an IP address range
    b. Using the Computer name
    4. Fill in the login credentials for the workgroup or domain that the clients belong to and click Search Now.
    5. After the clients have been found in either Unmanaged Clients or Unknown Clients select the ones that you wish to add.
    6. Specify the Client Install Package, Installation Settings, and Features.
    7. Install to that Group by selecting Start Installation.

Clients installed from packages produced by a serverless installation of the SEE Manager do not communicate with
an SEE Management Server, and are known as “silent clients.” Default mode deployments and serverless
deployments of the SEE Manager can coexist within the same SEE deployment.
The serverless installation mode may be appropriate in the following situations:

The deployment consists of a few SEE clients, and the cost of installing and maintaining an SEE database
    instance is hard to justify;

The lack of reporting capability is deemed an acceptable risk; or

There is a security requirement that SEE clients should not generate any network traffic.

The SEE Manager is used by Policy Administrators and runs on one or more computers designated as Manager
Computers. During installation of the initial Manager Console, the installer generates a set of keys, creates a backup
of those keys, and stores them in the SEE database. For centralized administration, a Manager Computer could be
configured to be remotely accessed by Policy Administrators.
