Dear,

I am planning for a 4+1(4user and a server) environemt as 4 users will be installed SEP client as unmanaged, Also I like to install the Antivirus and Antispyware(Basic Features) protection on server.

I dont wish to install the SEP manager, let all of them run as unmanaged client including server. How to get the package with basic feature to be installed in server as unmanaged?

Hi Dear,

your planing is good but for getting unmanaged/manages SEP client u need to purchase licence for the same. Also u can purchase professional edition antivirus fo this limited 4 machines.It is not feasible to u to take licence for 4 machine of endpoint protection 12.1

I have already purchased 10 user license of SEP12.1. Can anyone guide me How to get the package with basic feature to be installed in server as unmanaged?

You can install and Remove feature on Add/Remove program.

Is the above custom setup while installing or after installing and rebooting then from the Add/Remove programs?

1. Is there any way to deselect Network Threat Proctection(NTP) while installing (custom)? rather than from add/remove feature

2. In your above screen shot, do you recomment to keep, Proactive Threat Protection along with Antivirus and Antispy for servers?

Since you are not installing SEPM, then just install SEP from the installation CD on each of the machines.  By doing so, all the installations will be unmanaged.

No I dont get any custom while installing from CD.

@pkh - what I meant is not a just install from CD - it has to be custom by selecting only AV part to be installed on server.

When you install from the CD, during the installation process, you will be given the opportunity to select the features that you want.  At that point, you can uncheck the other options.

You can install SEP 32 Bit or 64 Bit client and install as custom package in which you will be able to select the components to install

From the media what you have downloaded you need to open the SEP folder and run the setup.exe

when it asks for the type of install, Select Custom and select Only Antivirus and Antispyare, then click , next. next. next, thats all you have to do.
