    Hi,

Next month Microsoft is releasing an update to Win 8.1 to improve the experience in a keyboard/mouse environment. Will SEP 12.1.RU4 be compatible with the update?  If not, does Symantec have a timeline to make SEP 12.1 compatible again?

    Thanks,

    CQ

Yes, it is still compatible. It's still 8.1 so RU4 will work.

    Hi again,.

Thanks for your replies.  I am disappointed no one from Symantec has replied with an "official" statement about compatability.  Windows 8.1 Update 1 will have significant changes to the OS vs the current 8.1.

For what it is worth, on the the Symantec SSR forum I posted the same question, and a Symantec employee researched my question and today informed me that SSR 2013 will NOT currently support Win 8.1 Update 1 upon its release.  He also gave me a link to a tech document that verified this.

Obviously, backup software SSR 2013 SP2 is not SEP12.1 RU4 but I am still concerned that UDATE 1 may cause issues.  The fact that Symantec has not replied to my question may indicate they are researching.

I would appreciate an official response from Symantec.  Best to be proactive.

    Thanks,

    CQ
