    Hello,

My Live Update Admin 2.2 fails when it tries to down load updates.

This is after an upgrade from 2.1. So I removed 2.1 and installed 2.2.

    Still no luck.

    Here is the log:

    Hi DA,

The log extract that you've posted shows several failures - are there also successes, or is every single download attempt failing?  Are some files coming down?  Can LUA 2.2 update its SPC (Symantec Product catalog)?

If some files are successfully downloading, then is it the same files which are consistently failing?  Or will "1260836428jtun_emt64nav2k8enc08.m25" etc. succeed the next time it's tried?

Final question: what's the network conenction like for this server?  Is it a fast and reliable broadband conenction or an older solution?  Do you have a proxy server in place?  Can other progarms on that server (Windows Updates, etc) successfully download their content all of the time?

    Thanks and best regards,

    Mick

Please check if you have any content filtering in your firewall.
use this document to check if your firewall is blocking the updates.

How to determine whether your firewall is blocking LiveUpdate

First check whether you are able to reach liveupdate server for this in the browser type
    http://liveupdate.symantecliveupdate.com\livetri.zip
    or
    http://liveupdate.symantec.com\livetri.zip

If you get a prompt to save the livetri.zip then your connection to Symantec LiveUpdate is working.

If it is ok you have to check the configuration .Below doc can help you in this
    Installation and configuration of LUA

    Some will download.
LUA 2.2 will check the product catalog, it says all products are up to date.
Server is connected to the same network the clients are. The clients will update via the web no problem.
Internet connection is good. 50mpbs down.
    No proxy.
Windows update via web and wsus are fine all of the time.

    Much thanks!

    No content filtering.

As I said above the 2.1 was working fine untill I upgraded to 2.2.

    Thanks!

Yes, I can dowload the zip on the server.

Is there a way for me to download all the the recent files in one zip then it will only have to download smaller updates next time?

    Thanks

Before trying a reinstall as Aravind suggested, you may try deleting the left overs manually from program files, common files, download locations, temp locations etc.

    No luck,

I removed it. deleted all left over files. restarted and re-installed.

It looks like its working now.

    Thanks guys!
