When our (SEP 11.0.5002.333 Antivirus only, no firewall piece) client servers recieve pushed updates from our Symantec update server. Updates are being recieved from an internal Liveupdate server. We experience temporary port (6666) blockage and comunication errors with other necessary application servers, this causes processes in our application to fail and eventually reset, but after apporx. 10-12 days of this event reoccurring the processe gets hung up and runs up CPU utilization to a 100% and the system needs to be restarted. Is this temporary blockage of ports normal and if so are there so white papers that can provide me this information and why it is necessary?
Attached is the sequence of events as they occurr in the application event log.
