  • 1.  Updating SEP 11 client install package to have latest virus defs

    Posted Jul 15, 2013 08:32 AM

I'm trying to update our install packages for SEP 11 so they come with the latest virus defintions rather than having them once installed, going out to live update.  I cannot seem to find the procedure, I've seen several posts to an article but it is no longer available:

    http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH104779

We are running SEPM 12 with SEP 11 clients.

    Hello,

The Article provided TECH104779, is expired and no longer available.

SEPM 12 clients do update the SEP 11 clients.

SEPMs running SEP 12.1 automatically include the latest definitions when creating a client package.

Here are few Articles which may assist you:

That is the article to use but it won't open for me either. Looks to not be valid any more.

This was the closest I could find:

I would like to know how to update the SEP 11 install package not the client once SEP is installed.

Since the KBA no longer exists, try the steps outlined here:

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Symantec community.

I would be glad to answer your query.

There is a few differences in SEP 12.1 folder structure.

You won't find the folder starting with C60DC234.

Check the folder where you can get the latest definitions.

Is there any particular reason not to upgrade to the latest version of SEP? If you could upgrade to the SEP 12.1 then you will be benefited with many more features.
