Can we upgrade SEPM 11.0.6005.562 directly to SEPM 12.1RU2

Yes you can directly upgrade SEPm 12.1 RU2.

If you already upgrading to 12.1 consider upgrading to the latest release available which would be 12.1 RU3 - you can as well directly upgrade from any 11.x version here:

  • Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1.671.4971 (RTM)
  • Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.x (can be upgraded to enterprise version only)
  • Symantec Endpoint Protection Small Business Edition 12.0

SEP 12.1.2 will upgrade over any previous version of 12.1 or 11.x so yes you can do this.

I would be glad to answer your query.

You can directly upgrade SEPM from 11.0.6005.562 to SEPM 12.1RU2 (12.1.2015.2015).

SEP 12.1 RU3 has released in last month and you can directly upgrade to SEP 12.1 RU3 also.

The SEP 12.1 SEPM upgrade installer requires three times the current database size (sem5.db) if upgrading from pre-12.1 SEPM with the embedded database only.

Hi Skp,

It is possible that you can upgrade your version in 12.1 RU2 from 11.x but there are lot of known issue which is fix in 12.1 RU3. You can upgrade in this version.

Yes no issue in direct upgrade from 11.0.6005.562 to 12.1 RU2.

After upgrade Server you can upgrade the clients using Autoupgrade feature.
