  • 1.  Upgradation of SEPM 12.1 from RU3 to RU4

    hi guys i have installed 12.1 Ru3 on my windows server 2008 with aboout 150 clents deployed. no replication patner or anythng. now i m wishing to upgrade it to RU4 . i have researched and found many articales which involves all the same steps that is

    1- backup DB

    2- stop SMC

    3- start the setup to install

    4- after install upgrade clents .

    (steps may be corrected if i am wrong)

    to upgrade i have downloaded the two setup files with names "Symantec_Endpoint_Protection_12.1.4_Part1_Installation_EN" and "Symantec_Endpoint_Protection_12.1.4_SEPM_EN.exe" now the question might be a bit dumb but i m confused about which setup to run to upgrade. i mean are the both same? (although their sizes are not 1st is 1.7 GB and the other is 1.4 GB). kindly help guys.

    "Symantec_Endpoint_Protection_12.1.4_Part1_Installation_EN" and contains sepm and other files

    "Symantec_Endpoint_Protection_12.1.4_SEPM_EN.exe contains only sepm, if you want to just upgrade sepm then you can download only this.

    Symantec_Endpoint_Protection_12.1.4_SEPM_EN.exe contains only sepm, if you want to just upgrade sepm then you  download only this and run the SEPM upgrade

    do you see setup.exe?

    if yes, click on that, then select with the Symantec Endpoint protection Manager
