Upgrade to 12.1.5337.5000 fails

    Hi,

    While going through the upgrade proceedure from 12.1.2015.2015 to 12.1.5337.5000 it fails at the upgrading database schema stage, ie, very early on. Any ideas?

    Can you re-post logs.

    How much disk space available ?

    Please post the SEP_INST.log and SIS_INST.log files

    What logs do I need to gather in order to troubleshoot a failed SEP 12.1 client installation?

    Hi,

    open services.msc

    for sepm service, set the log on type as System. start the service.

    Unable to start the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager Webserver service on 12.1 RU5

    SEPM wont start becuase SEPM Webserver is not running and that wont run because of attached.

    Yes, change the log on service type as SYStem for Websserver and start it,

    Ok, after making some minor changes to the httpd.conf and ssl.conf files the webserver starts now. When I run the installer again it still fails but because it can't start the SEPM this time even if I change the user.

    from the log it says it was able to start. can you try this and post the scm-server0.log?

    %Program Files%\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\bin and runupgrade.bat to finish upgrade.

    The Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager service starts but then stops again about 10 seconds after. Even if I manully start it.

    Running %Program Files%\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\bin\upgrade.bat has the same result as running the other installer.

    Where does scm-server0.log live? I can't find it.

    Didn't get to the bottom of the issue, uninstall and reinstall then upgrade fixed the issue though.
