  • 1.  Upgrade to 12.1.6mu5 keeps failing at 2%

    Posted Jul 05, 2016 05:04 PM

Currently running 12.1.4023.4080 with no problems, but when trying to upgrade to 12.1.6mu5 logged in as administrator it keeps failing at 2% with the error: "Failed to create audit log event for this server upgrade" and then SEPM becomes totally botched and will not run.  The only fix is to go back to a previous snapshot to get the system back to a running state again.

It sounds like a rights issue for the administrator account would be the cause of this, but I've tried everything in the documentation that I can find to no avail.    Any clues as to what I can look for?

Was there any additional info in the scm-server-0.log file? Just need admin rights on the box to do the upgrade.

the version you are running is 12.1 RU4 MP1a which is pretty old and most importantly the version which you are trying to upgrade to is once again a maintenance patch which is not a major release. so I would suggest you to upgrade your SEPM first to 12.1 RU6. Once it is successful and the again go ahead and upgrade your manager to 12.1.6 MP5

The scm-server-0.log and upgrade-0.log files both had lots of errors having to do with arithabort not being set correctly.     I'm not sure how it got disabled on the sql server, but after manually setting it to on at the sql server, the installer worked without a problem.
