Download latest NBCC first
different versions of NBCC can treat the same problem different ways, it's always better to have most recent one.
on second step fix all of the inconsistencies, otherwise prepare to rollback failed upgrade.
if you got HP-UX, install 6.5.4, this platform is supported way better in this release
YES Netbackup Will LET u
YES Netbackup Will LET u Upgrade the Database, even without removing the DB inconsistancies, but just a thought of Sense, why would we want to have all the Inconsistanies in the DB .
Altho' some of the inconsistencies
can be trivial & only temporary e.g. all the images on a piece of media have expired (i.e. no valid images) but NetBackup has not yet 'unassigned' it - this shows up as an inconsistency but is not necessarily a show-stopper, we came across it several times in one morning when upgrading from 5.1 to 6.5.
I would still go with the majority here tho' & identify & fix all inconsistencies before upgrading - "It's the only way to be sure"
