  • 1.  Upgrade to 8.0.0.24 Web Interface stop working

    Hi, I've upgrade SMS 7.6.1-14 to 8.0.0.24 without error from command line with install download and install upgrade. After reboot the Control Center Web console does not work (page not found). From commend line (with netstat -an command) I can see the listening on port 443 (or 41443 if I disable SSL). I have check all log (wich tail) but I have not found anythink. Is there a log that I can check? Could you help me to solve this problem? Thanks in advance for some help.

    Is the BrightmailLog.log file reporting any errors?

    in the Brightmailog.log there is no error, only INFO line.

    Did you try to manually restart the web service by going to the console and typing:

    service controlcenter start

    ?

    I try to start (or restart) but nothing change. I receive the following message:

    Starting Symantec Brightmail Gateway Control Center:
    "bcc" JVM process already running
                                                               [  OK  ]

    Just getting back to your original message so are you able to access the interface via https, or https on port 41443?  

    Did you have access via http enabled before you upgraded and is it that access that isn't working?

    Or is it that you just can't access the SBG via standard https?

    What exactly do you see when you try to access the Brightmail Gateway?  Can you ping the Control Center from where you are trying to manage it?  Coulld it be an issue where you need to accept the https certificate or add an exception before you can get access?

    I'm not able to acces via https on port 443 and 41443. The service start and is wainting on these port but I can't access to the control center.
    With version 7.6.1-14 I was able to access to HTTP console but I didn't work with the https because I didn't want to use the certificate.

    I can ping it and I can reach it via telnet on port 443 but I don't receive any response or error message, i'm only disconnected..

    In wich way I can accept or take the certificate? What do you mean with add an exception?!

    Depending on the browser you are using some times when trying to connect to https sites your web browser will need you to confirm a security exception to allow access the site.  The error you see when connecting will usually indicate if that's the case.  What is the error message you actually see when trying to connect?

    I don't receive error message but only a 'cannot connect to web page' or 'connection broken' (from Firefox). I have checked with IE 7.0 and Firefox 3.0.7 but the message is the same. I have added the IP of SMS in the Intranet site or trusted site but nothing change.

    At this point Lorenzo think your best bet is probably to contact Support to get some help.
