  • 1.  Upgrade to 9.5.2-3 taking 4+ hours

I am in the process of upgrading my SBG from 9.0.1-10 to 9.5.2-3.  The update has been running for 4+ hours at this point.  Past updates were done well within a half hour.  The rotating icon continues to rotate on the update screen.  Of course the update screen lacks update progress, which doesn't help.  I have a single scanner and it is running VMware 4.1.  I am about ready to abandon and revert to my snapshot.  Is there a way to see the log of the update as it is happening?  Is it normal that this upgrade would take this long?

We always recommend using the command line to perform updates for this reason. The update has most likely gotten hung up. Has the VM restarted? Many times the web page simply doesn't refresh correctly and when you do refresh, it has rebooted and is on the new version. You should try a reboot first and see if it boots up correctly. If not, report the error messages you see on the console.

I ended up reverting to the snapshot before the upgrade due to the time constraints.  I am going to attempt the upgrade over the weekend and will perform the upgrade using the CLI.

Ok, sounds good. Version 9.5 and higher, shows the upgrade status in the GUI.

Re-ran the update using the console... I think it was getting hung on this error:

and the reinstall appears to have solved the problem.  (sigh of relief)
