  • 1.  Upgrade and new User Names

If you upgrade to a new version on SEE and, when creating the new MSI files, you choose to set up with a new, different User Name (admin account).  Should this account be associated with the install or does it apply the new account within the MSI?

I would have thought the new account should be applied, but my upgrade to 8.2 MP2 has kept the original one.

Does anyone know what should happen, and if you want to apply the new user name, how do you do it.

...can be changed via policy as well.  Is it possible you have a policy in place with the old client administrator accounts applying to this upgraded client?

Also, can you give a bit more detail on how it's behaving?  Are both the new and old client administrator accounts available, or only the old?

I always test new installs of SEE on my own laptop first.

I created a new set of MSI files for 8.2 MP2 and created a new admin account as part of the install.

After my PC checked in a looked at the accounts and it listed the old account from a previous install. The new one was no where to be seen.

I didn't know if this was by design or not.  i just assumed that if you did an upgrade the new account would be listed.

I know you can set the admin account via GPO and will double check to make sure I am not overwriting with GPO, but just thought I would ask to see what others had found.
