Upgrade concerns - must also be transferred to another group?

We are trying to upgrade Windows 7 PCs with SEP from RU5 to RU6-MP2.

What we are trying to achieve is that when we install / upgrade a PC with SEP client, it should be transferred from one group to another.

We do it by uninstalling the the SEP client itself should push deployment is not possible.

But what happens is that when we do it on a Windows 7 PC, it still remains on its old group.

When we do it on a Win XP PC, it transfers right away to the other group, and its entry from the old group will become offline.

Is this scenario possible on a Windows 7? What should be done / performed to do this?

Thanks.

complete uninstall of SEP and try installing SEP. Also if the client entry still remains in DB, it will try to register to the old group.

How to create a client install setting to remove previous logs, policies and reset the client-server communication settings.

already done with the procedure:

"Under Upgrade settings, select Remove all previous logs and policies, and reset the client-server communication settings and then click OK."

but it only worked on Win XP clients. Win 7 clients still remain on their old group.

Hello,

Is the UAC and Advance Security Firewall Disabled on the Windows 7 machines?

Could you try Changing the Sylink.xml file on those machines using the SylinkReplacer Tool?

https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/downloads/sylinkreplacer-tool-connecting-sep-clients-sepm

If that does not work, follow this:

Hope these helps!!!
