  • 1.  Upgrade Corporate 10.1 to 11.0.5 and move also

We currently have AV 10.1 on 5 different servers in 5 different locations with SAV on the desktops. We want to upgrade to 11.0.5 and from I have read I could do that on each server then push out the client update from there. The problem is we want to move Symantec from its current box at one location (our main one) to another box. What is the best process for this? Install 11 on the new box then push the new client out? If I did that would it uninstall the old SAV and install the new client even tho the push is coming from a new server? Or should I do the clean install on the new box, then upgrade the current server to 11, then upgrade the clients, then drag the updated clients from the  old server to the new server? Or is there another method to do this?

It doesn't matter where you install SEP manager. Doesn't have to be on the same server.
Yes it will un-install SAV then install itself when you deploy it doesn't matter where your SEP server is located.
I would suggest do the clients first then install SEP on the servers.

In this way your SAV servers will be updating the SAV clients. Once all SAV clients have been migrated to SEP then you can remove SSC and SAV server and install SEP

SSC and SEP client cannot co-exist.

    Do read the SEP FAQ's

--- The best practice would be to install SEPM ( 11.0.5) on a new server

Push the new clients over the SAV

Once all the clients are installed , Uninstall the SAV server.

The SVA SSC can co  exist with SEPM so if you want on the same machine you can install the SEPM and push all the clients and Uninstall SSC once the implementation is done
