DS 6.9 SP4 database is running on a windows 2003 platform with SQL2005 SP2. We need to upgrade SQL2005 to SP3. Does this have consequences for the DS6.9 SP4 database or can we upgrade the SQL version without any problem.

Hi Hendrj, I understand you

Hi Hendrj,

I understand you caution, the platform support guide isn't explicit,
http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=DOC2079

You'll be fine though -any SPs on 2005 are certainly supported.  If you're looking for real-world confirmation though, I've upgraded about 6 DS6.9SP4  servers in this SQL 2005 upgrade scenario. No issues at all. Just stop the Deployment Server services, upgrade SQL and reboot.

Backup everything first though... ;-)

Kind Regards,

Ian./
