I have not read too much into v12, but I was wondering what the major features are for the latest release? If 11d is running smooth is there any real reason to migrate to 12? I have a very simple install, and it works so I'm not looking to add any complications into this environment.

Done that in the past, and I'm looking to avoid the frustration this time around, too many projects going on at once!

I am in the same boat. I have a small install of 11d with the server backing up itself and 4 other machines and also am considering the upgrade to 12. However I too am worried about what headaches will arise. I never did upgrade to the second release of 11D as I seen too many people posting about issues with it. With how crappy SEP was and all the problems that arrose from me installing POS, I am almost afriad to try to upgrade to backup exec 12.

Has anyone seen any issues with upgrading from 11D to 12?

I hear you on SEP, it was killing my server and the clients I was testing on, so I rolled back to 10.1.5 until they work out the kinks. I like the sound of the features in 12, but I guess I'll wait on testing until I hear more about it. Good luck if you do the upgrade!

I've done 2 upgrades so far without any problems, except that my backup jobs had to be recreated - I only had 2 jobs though.
The big advantages for us were being able to back up to a UNC path and Windows 2008 support. Other than that, the new features aren't relevent yet for my clients.

If you are backing up any Linux / Unix servers stay at Version 11 as the legacy agent no longer works under Version 12 and you will have to buy Linux / Unix agents!!
