Symantec Management Platform (Notification Server)

Is there a roadmap for a new Version of Remote Altiris Agent Diagnostics with full support for ITSM / SMP 7.5?

I was told by Symantec that RAAD is a tool developped by a Symantec engineer during his free time and if you check the RAAD v2 KB it states that it's not supported by Symantec.  That being said i'm pretty sure a new RAAD version will come to light once that guy get some more free time.

I believe that the engineer who created it no longer works for Symantec; however, I think another engineer has recently created a similar tool.

I guess this could become an open source community project if Symantec wants to keep it unsupported.  I would be glad to participate if we can get our hand on the source code.

Hi,

Has anyone tried the old or the new RAAD through a firewall? It seems like even if the ports mentioned in the document are set to be allowed by the firewall that the tool does not function fully.

I can bring up the diagnostics but if I for example want to run a SWD I get the error "The RPC server is unavailable".

Anyone got it to work through firewall?
