Endpoint Protection

Hi,

I have 20 Sav environments with no secondary servers in any of the groups.  Now I plan to upgrade everything to 10.1.9 and also include a secondary server.  What is the best way to do this?
Install secondary server first with current version  10.1.0 and then upgrade primary 10.1.9 and then upgrade the secondary server again?  I want to limit risk as much as possible.

It is either of the two. Both are correct,  You can  assign a Seconday server then do a upgrade or upgrade and then add a secondary server.

To eliminate risk as much as possible, I would like to have a secondary incase the primary server upgrade fails, then I am stuffed.

One other question,

In each sav environement, each client will have a parent server.  I would like the primary servers to manage all the clients and not the secondary as this server is already performing lots of otther functons.  How do I best configure that if the primary servers fails at any time and the secondary is promoted to the primary that all the clients will move across to the new primary (ie the secondary that now is the primary)?

Sav primary has 100 clients and secondary server has no cleints.  Primary server fails and off line.  I promote secondary server to primary server. Will all the 100 clients now report to the new primary server?

Yes all will report to the secondary server
