  • 1.  Upgrade SEP from 11.x to 12.x using SEPM

    Hi,

      I have to upgrade SEP from 11.x to 12.x for some PCs only. Is that possible using SEPM? Please suggest the procedure.

    HI,

    You can Create New Group and Move Sep client which system do you want to Upgrade.

    You can use AutoUpgrade Feature

    Note :You must test the AutoUpgrade process before you attempt to upgrade a large number of clients in your production network. If you do not have a test network, you can create a test group. You can add a few non-critical clients to the test group and upgrade them by using AutoUpgrade. You can confirm the upgrade completed successfully by verifying the version number of the client software that appears in the About dialog box.

    Hi,

    It's possible using SEPM, you can use auto upgrade feature to accomplish it.

    Create a new group & move the clients which you wish to upgrade.

    Assing SEP 12.1 packages to the new group.

    Thumbs up to above comments. Auto upgrade feautre on SEPM does the job. Make sure that SEPM is running the 12.1 version and it has the 12.1 client installation packages.

    If you going to go from 11 to RU12 MP1 this would have to be done as a two step auto upgrade first taking the clients to RU12 then placing them into another group with RU12 MP1 on. Both updates require a restart of the machine.

    Unless your going to do an uninstall of existing client then install a new package directly to RU12 MP1.

    Might be worth waiting for the RU12.2 package that is due sometime next month.
