Endpoint Protection

Hello everybody

As instruction of my boss. I need upgrade SEP Manager from 11.x to 12.x that without upgrade SEP client (Client still running SEP 11.x). I worry something bellow :

1. SEP manager 12.x and SEP Client 11.x . Does it running stable ?
2. I used application and device control in old SEP Manager 11.x. Does it still effect in SEP Manager 12.x

Please give to me your advise

1. Yes. 12.1 can manage all versions, 11.x included.

2. It will still work as expected.

I'm sure you're aware but SEP 11.x is end of support life so it no longer receives definitions.

that's right. That's reason why I need upgade to SEP 12.x as soon as possoble

Sep 12.1 can manage 11.x clients and adc policy, but the definition can't be update. For the continue of definition you need to upgrade the sep client in 12.x https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/symantec-endpoint-protection-110x-eosl

thumbs up to the above clients just a small note if you have 11.0.4 and lower client in your network do upgrade them to a higher version as they would not get an update.

 

 

As said above do your best to upgrade entire environment to 12.1.x.
