Planning of upgrading SEP 12.1.4 RU4 to 12.1.6 (RU6)

On https://symantec.flexnetoperations.com/control/symc/index only 12.1.5 is available. From where can i acquire the 12.1.6 setup ?

Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) adds support for Windows 10 with 12.1.6 MP1. For Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1, a maintenance patch has been released on July 29, 2015.

You can directly upgrade from SEP 12.1 RU4 to SEP 12.1 RU6 MP1a.

MP1a version will be available at Fileconnect. Do you still see SEP 12.1 RU5? Are you on SEP.cloud version?

The only setups i see on Fileconnect are these;

I don't see any MP1 (12.1.6) setups ....

That's because it's SBE which is end of life. See here:

You need to move to the cloud version.

Ohhh I though so. You are using SEP 12.1 Small Business Edition (SBE).

The Endpoint Protection Small Business Edition 12.1.x product has reached End-of-life and is set to be replaced by the Hosted (or .Cloud) version of the product.

Note: This does NOT mean the customer needs to immediately upgrade their product. Customers will be able to renew their on-premises license and continue to use their SBE SEPM’s until 2018.

Either you can continue using SBE 12.1 RU5 or migrate to the SEP.cloud version.

Just a small question, can i still make use of my present license SEP SBE 12.1.4 ? The process of migrating to 12.1.6 to the cloud asks for the license (https://hostedendpoint.spn.com/default.aspx?mig=1), If my on premise licesnses are given will they be activated on the cloud and deactivated from the premise environment ?

You can't directly upgrade from SEP SBE 12.1.4 to SEP.cloud.

First upgrade SEP SBE 12.1 4 to 12.1.5 (RU5). Only SEP 12.1 RU5 & above versions can migrate to SBE.cloud version.

About license, migration will use same license. In case face any challenge let me know I will check with our SEP.cloud team.

Then why is the migration guide stating that i can do it straight away from 12.1.4013.4013 ???

That's my bad. You should be able to migrate from any of the listed version. Migration process will take care of license transfer as well.

Is their a more brief step-by-step guide on the migration process from premise to cloud version of SEP ?

Have you checked whether I need to upgrade license or can upgrade with the present ones ?

Upgrade process will move license from on premises to SEP.cloud. In case if did not happen, we can involve our license team to look into.
