  • 1.  Upgrade SEPM to RU6a - Reboot?

    Posted Aug 13, 2010 09:21 AM
I recently upgraded my SEPM from MR4 to RU6a.  Everything went smoothly and seems to be operating correctly.
I was curious if a restart of the server was necessary?
I did not receive a request to do so, but thought I'd ask the community if I'd run into any issues if I do not.
I think the server itself (2003 SP2 w/ an external SQL 2005 enterprise dB) should be restarted in a few days, but should I do it now?

    Hi Scott,

There's no need to reboot.  This article has some details: Event 1005 logged after SEPM Install or Upgrade, Though no Prompt for Reboot is Displayed (http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/ent-security.nsf/docid/2009033115004948)

Please let the forum know if ths answers your query!

    Thanks and best regards,

    Mick
