I want to know what is this "upgrade.bat" on location <SEPM>\bin\upgrade.bat will do. Can anyone please explain about the process what it does.
that is the batch file which is needed uring the upgrade.
suppose if you are upgrading from 11.0.4 it will first upgrade the software and then upgrade.bat will upgrade schema and will add the necessary packages.
if upgrade fails ; running upgrade.bat fixes the issue

In other words it's server upgrade.
It balances the Endpoint Server with the newer version with the patches(Database Schema) if the Over install of the new version has any problems.

Edit the bat file open in a notepad, u will see what it does :)
