Upgraded to DS 6.9 SP5 getting errors using Modify Configuration to join to Domain

Before upgrading, I was using DS 6.9 SP3.

I upgraded to DS 6.9 SP5, and have noticed that our imaging jobs are erroring out during the "Modify Configuration" step, which simply joins the PC to our domain using the %NAME% token. This has never been an issue, however since the upgrade at least 75% of the time we're getting errors.

Error -2147016654 - An invalid dn syntax has been specified.

    Error: -2147463168 - (No description)

Most of the failures are with the first error, and yes we're running Windows 7 on all of these setups. If we continue past the error, the system appears to be fine, but the error coming up since 6.9 SP5 is a concern.

Except for upgrading from 6.9 SP3 to 6.9 SP5 nothing else has changed. And having the AD logs checked, nothing appears to be erroring out on the AD side.

A couple of questions.  Is the %NAME% already in the active directory domain?  Are you joining it to just the FQDN or directly to a folder/OU container in the domain?

If you are joining directly to a folder/OU where the machine already exists, this can cause a problem.  I've found that just putting the fully qualified domain name in only (no OU or container info) works most of the time if the machine already exists in the domain.  Also, I've found if I separate the rename and join domain into separate tasks, I've been more successful.
