Greetings,

  I had a similar problem after my upgrade. For me, the solution was to export the files to a local directory on the SEPM server and then copy them to the network share where I would typically store them.

 My network share is DFS and I'm guessing the path name was too long based the directory structure and the rather long name SEP likes to use for it's source files "My Default Group........." and that this was causing the hang-up.

You may try to run upgrade.bat file

I have same problem on sepm 12.1.1000.157 (clean install, not upgrade from sepm 11). Export of Win client (both single .exe and unpacked installation, export folder is on local drive) sometimes hangs during exporting process, approximately when collecting virus definitions. Only full reboot of sepm server helps (for several days, then I need to reboot again :) )

I've tried update.bat and restarted the server. I've pointed to local drives with short paths like C:\Temp -> still hangs up... Unless it's supposed to take more than 5 minutes . . .

can you post the scm-server-0.log from tomcat logs folder?

1) Remove all old packages from SEPM.

• Log into SEPM
• Click in the Tab: Admin > Install Packages and select the old packages with right click and select the option delete;
• After you remove all the old packages, log off from SEPM.

2) Click on Start > Run and type the following command ''services.msc'' to open the services management:

• Stop the service ''Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager''; (Keep it open)

3) Open the following direct <driver:>Program FilesSymantecSymantec Endpoint Protection ManagerBin and execute ''upgrade.bat'';

• Once you executed  ''upgrade.bat'' start the service ''Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager'' and log on again into SEPM.;

Now you should be able to export the new packages.

Do you mean delete only the old 11.x versions, or all existing deployment packages including the 12.x ones?

Select the install package to export.

Click Export Client Install Package under Tasks.

In the Export Package wizard.

Select Contents and choose Basic Content.

Decrease the Java heap usage for the SEPM.

Ok, the suggestion regarding the Java Heap Size + Basic content put me on the right track. I increased the RAM for the server from 2 to 3 GB and exported a basic content version, and it worked. This leads me to believe it may have been working, but just taking forever for the newer content?
