  • 1.  Upgrading 11.0.5 to 12.1.1101

    Hello all,

    I had to upgrade a PC from SEP 11.0.5 to SEP 12.1 RU1 MP1. As far as I know, the recommended migration path for clients and SEPMs is 11.0.5 => 12.1 RU1 => 12.1 RU1 MP1. And that is what I wanted to do.

    However, by mistake I pushed a SEP 12.1 RU1 MP1 package to the SEP 11.0.5 server, without the SEP 12.1 RU1 intermediate step. Result: No issues, it is working flawlessly.

    Do I misunderstand the migration recommendations, or did I just have good luck?

    Well, I have seen many a customer  do this (skip the intermediate upgrade) & are still fine, however I would still say, thats kinda good fortune & best it to upgrade to 12.1 RU1 and then to 12.1 RU1 MP1

    11.0.5 => 12.1 RU1 => 12.1 RU1 MP1 is the recommended upgrade path. But it has been observed that many times without the SEP 12.1 RU1 intermediate step also the upgrade will go through without any issues.
