A couple questions for those who have done this and experienced the joys of the upgrade (( LOL ))

What problems did you run into upgrading to 11.07 ?

Do you have to upgrade to 11.07 1st then to 11.07 MP3 ??

Are there any installations guides out there to follow and/or notes of things to watch out for ???

They reason I am only going to 11.07 MP3 is becuase I am with a company in liquidation and we are limited with $$ to buy new equipment, so we are using the what we have which does not have a lot of Disk Space left and our 1 server is getting upgraded to Windows 2008 Server and 11.06 MP3 says its not compatiable with that version.  basically we are going to do just enough to be within the life cycle of the software, have support from the software for our versions of our Windows operating systems and stay within the bounds of disk space on our current server.

Thank you very much for your time and suggestions

    Mike

You would first need to upgrade to 11.07 first than go to 11.07 MP3.

    Check this upgrade path:

    Hello,

    the supported migration path is:

    SEP 11.0.x > SEP 11.0.7000 > SEP 11.0.7300

To save disk space, after you have migrated to 11.0.7000, you will be able to remove the old RU6 packages from the the console (Admin > Packages) and gain a couple of GB.

    Hi,

Why don't you upgrade to the latest SEP version i.e. SEP 12.1 RU2?

Check till date SEP releases: http://bit.ly/m0vOJp

I believe upgrade to SEP 12.1 will be free of cost for all the existing SEP 11 customers.

Supported upgrade paths to Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager 12.1 from Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager 11.x

    http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH192779

Supported upgrade paths for the Symantec Endpoint Protection client

    http://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO81070

However if you wish to upgrade to SEP 11 RU7 MP3 then go through the following articles.

Symantec™ Endpoint Protection and Symantec Network Access Control 11 Release Update 7 MP3 Release Notes

    http://www.symantec.com/docs/DOC6158

Migrating to Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0.7300 (RU7 MP3)

    http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH199189

Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0.7300 (RU7 MP3) can migrate seamlessly over the following:

    Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0.7200 (RU7 MP2)

    Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0.7101 (RU7 MP1)

    Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0.7000 (RU7)

    Supported Migration path SEP 11.x > SEP 11.0.7000.975 (RU7) > SEP 11.0.7300.1294 (RU7 MP3)

You are correct - the upgrade is free to 11.0 customers, that's no the the issue - - its the new server I must buy because the current one is out of space, slower processor and running Windows 2003 server.

I will go back and mark one of them as the solution

    Thank you for your time,
