On my initial install of CMS it was installed on the C: drive. My new 7.1 server has it installed on the D: drive. I know this will cause problems in the migration as per document

"Warning:  If you change the installation path for Symantec Installation Manager from 7.0 to 7.1, you cannot migrate the Symantec Management Agent and the agent plug-ins."

I'm just having a problem understanding what the above means.  Does that mean that the agent on all the clients can not be migrated. ? Or the agent on the Server ? If its the server what problems will I see with it. symantec docs excel at being vague..

    ???

I would assume that it means you'll end up with the 7.0 agent on the C: drive and the 7.1 agent on the D: drive.  In theory, you'd just have to uninstall the agent on the C: drive, but hopefully someone here has actual experience with it.

I imagine this has to do with package path, which is hardcoded to C:\Program Files\Altiris\ etc.  If you change it to D:\ in 7.1, any package you migrate from 7.0 will have a broken path to C:\.  But since all of your agents and plug-ins in 7.1 are new GUIDs and new versions, I don't think this matters much.
