We're currently running Brightmail 9.5.3 on a single appliance server and want to upgrade to Messaging Gateway 10 with a managment console and 2 scanners for redundancy.

What is the best way to do the upgrade, whilst keeping downtime to a minimum? We have available hardware for doing an offline upgrade of a backup if that is possible.

Hi

first download update on both scanners using ssh console

next in host with Control Center configuration select Do not accept incoming messages

You have to update Console Center as a first

run update from ssh on host with control center.

After upgrading (about 10-15 minutes), run from ssh

  • mta-control pause-mode resume-accept

and next

  • service mta restart

check updated scanner, if it works, do the same with second scanner.
