Upgrading Endpoint to Ver 11.0.4202.75 remotely
Updated: 21 May 2010 | 2 comments
Hi,
I got 3000 systems installed with Symantec Endpoint Protection Ver 11.0.3001.2224 and I am trying to upgrade to Ver 11.0.4202.75.
We are unable to upgrade because it is asking to uninstall the old version first and then install the latest one. This is not an option on 3000 systems. Also, we cannot uninstall remotely because there is a uninstallation password which has to be entered on all the system.
So, Is there any option that will directly uninstall the old version and install the latest version directly and also I need that in MSI format so that I can deploy that remotely. I am using GFI Languard to deploy the applications remotely. Please need help very badly.
Regards,
Bency

Yes.... You need to: 1.
Yes....
You need to:
1. Select a group from Clients TAB.
2. On the right ... select "Install Packages"
3. In Task tab click on "Add Client Install Package"
4. Configure Package and press OK button
From now clients from this group should start to upgrade.
Hi
The upgrade process does not ask you to uninstall the previous versions..
I think you are trying to upgrade from MR3 to MR4MP2
Please check this link for the supported version.
https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/upgrade-sep-1104202-mr4-mp2-11030012224
you need to upgade
11.0.3001 to 11.0.4000 MR4
Then
MR4 to MR4 MP2 .. This will not ask to uninstall previous version.
