Endpoint Protection

I plan on upgrading 11.0.6a to MP1 on 2008 R2. Does anyone know of any issues "gotchas" or anything that really needs to be considered.

1. Is this just an update on the sepm application or will this push out updates to clients as well? Thats what I'm sceptical about, the push out to clients as it may cause problems. Reason why I'm asking is that I was convinced by a few Symantec employees that upgrading to 11.0.6 from 11.5 was fine and no issues, well as soon as the upgrade was in process on the servers access was cut off. for some reason the upgrade was the application and device control or something else enabled the FW on the servers which cause havoc.

I have not heard of any issues in applying the Maintenance Patch.

You can configure the SEPM to provide the update to the clients checking in.  It's all covered in here:

As you migrated from 11.0.5 to 11.0.6 ..you have to follow the same procedure to migrate to RU6 to RU6MP1

Yes, they're very similiar, because the steps do not vary much (if at all) between builds.  However, there are often build-specific notes (such as supported migration paths) that folks should be aware of.

I upgraded my SEPMs from .5 to .6 to .6a to .6aMP1 as they were released all without issues.
