    All/Moderators,

I'm having a tough time successfully upgrading my client machines successfully to the new MP2. I have successfully downloaded and imported the package (both 32bit and 64bit) through the Admin view. I created a spare folder under our ROOT called (Deployment). For this folder, I added the MP2 CLIENT INSTALL PACKAGE. I set it to automatically upgrade with no schedule and no warnings on the client side with no chance of them to delay the process either. Keep in mind I've only been trying this on our local IT employees that I always use to test these deployments before mass deployment. For CLIENT FEATURE SETTINGS I have tried both (Maintain Existing Client Features & to use our custom Install Feature Set). The custom install feature set only installes Antivirus & Spyware w/ the Outlook Scanner.

The problem I'm having, is with either CLIENT FEATURE SETTINGS it's installing EVERY feature set on some machine (proactive threat protection and network threat protection) and then on some it upgrades like normal and preserves the Antivirus & Spyware w/ Outlook Scanner settings that we want.

    So, the question is:

WHAT AM I DOING WRONG THAT WOULD BE CAUSING IT NOT TO KEEP MY CURRENT FEATURE SETS ON SOME MACHINES AND JUST THROWING ON ALL FEATURES AVAILABLE?

Thank you so much in advance everyone,

    Josh

When you are doing the client upgrade and you want to maintain the same settings...

Open up the "group" in which your clients are in, be it 32 or 64 bit.  Best practice to have these separated.

Choose your client(s) and select a package.  In this case, the default SEP package.

So, choose a group -> Installed pakage TAB and ADD CLIENT PACKAGE.

Choose the package you want.  For example: "Symantec Endpoint protection version 11.0.4014.26 for WIN 32bit".

Make sure to keep selected the "Maintain existing features when updating".  This should ensure that the clients receive exactly the same settings as they had before.

I would stick with Jason's advice. If you want to change the feature set on the clients, export a new setup.exe package from Admin -> Install Packages to include only the new feature set you want.

    best regards,
