Upgrading to RU7 MP, SemSvr.exe runs at constant 25% CPU

After completing SEPM upgrades from RU7 to RU7 MP1 on 32 customers servers, I am now having issues with the SemSvc.exe process running at a constant 25% CPU on about 12 of the customers.

The upgrade all went through OK and the first signs of there being a problem was when I noticed that after logging into SEPM the session kept timing out and loggin me out.  The SemSvc.exe service would stop, I would have to restart it and then I could get back in again.

As a result I can see that definitions do you appear to be updating and I cannot stay logged in to SEPM long enough to see if client are upgrading with the new install package, or to get to the Admin tab to check Liveupdate status.

Is anybody else having these issues?  I can't believe that 12 upgrades out of 32 are experiencing the same issue.  Am I doing something wrong?  I have completed the upgrades just like I complete any of the upgrades, you can't really go wrong.
