  • 1.  Upgrading from SEP 11 to SEP 12

    Posted Nov 05, 2010 12:56 PM

I am preparing to upgrade a new client from SEP 11 to SEP 12 and have been told that this upgrade does not work very well.

I have not been able to gain access to the server yet, that should come today (I hope) as the upgrade is due early next week.

Has anyone experienced any issues with this upgrade? Not 100% sure what version (of SEP) is on the server now, still waiting for access to the Win 2008 server to check?

The version 12 has a .SIF file for licensing and I am not sure if the version 11 requires this or not. Will it make a difference if the version 11 does not use the .SIF file?

Even a heads up to where to find some specific information would be very helpful, I am reading the manual that came with the version 12 but do not see a lot of info on this upgrade. They assume that you are installing a fresh copy.

    Thanks in advance.

Going to SEP 12 is not an upgrade. SEP 12 is a stripped down version of SEP 11 used for Small business.
