    Morning guys,

I have SEP 12.1 installed with all features, I need to upgrade to SEP 12.2 but with only AntiVirus and AntiSpware feature.

If I create a SEP 12.2 package with only AV and AS feature will this package ovewrite the curret features or it will still keep the existing features(ALL Features)??

The plan is to upgrade and overwrite

    Thank you in advance

How are yo accomplshing the upgrade?  If it's via the SEPM itself and the "Install Packages" tab on a group, then it is entirely possible to change the features on your managed clients at the same time, as per the below article:

I will create a SEP ru2 package with only AV and AS feature via the SEPM Console and deploy using SCCM.

Will it overwrite the existing features?

Yups, I can confirm an exported client package will change the feature set on an existing client to whatever was defined in the exported package.

    Hi,

--> It will overwrite the current features. It won't keep all existing features however reboot may required to show desired results.

You can refer this article to know more about it.

    Hello,

Yes, when you are using the Latest package, the Latest package would install the same features which is meant to install and override the older feature set.

    Hope that helps!!

    Hello,

It will automatically overwrite the current features once you run it.

It will not keep all existing features.

    Hi Eyal,

Is there any reason why you are moving away from IPS, firewall, etc?  I really recommend that you keep IPS at the very least.  AV alone is not enough to ensure protection.

    all the best,

    Mick

    Hello,

I completely agree with Mick's suggestion.

Here's some advice from Security Response on how to make the best use of SEP.  Auto-Protect with traditional AV derfinitions alone is not enough for a complete defence against today's sophisticated threats: using IPS, Insight etc is crucial.  And, of course, educated users following best security practice... that's the best protection.
