Endpoint Protection

A couple questions for you all :

1)  Can you upgrade directly from 11.0.4202.75 to 11.0.6 MP3 ??

2)  What are the known issues with doing this ??

3)   Is it an upgrade or complete re-install that needs to be done ??

4)   Any helpful advice I should know before trying to do this

You can but it's not recommended or supported so I wouldn't do it. But I've heard a few cases where it did work without issue.

The recommended path is to upgrade to RU6 or RU6a first then upgrade to RU6 MP3.

It will be an upgrade, not a complete re-install.

Direct migration is not supported. See the following document:

First you need to migrate to RU6, then to RU6 MP3:

There is no direcrt migration supported.

Migration paths
Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0.6300 (RU6 MP3) can migrate seamlessly over the following:

• • Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0.6000.550 (RU6), 11.0.6005.562 (RU6a), 11.0.6100.645 (RU6MP1), and 11.0.6200.754 (RU6 MP2)

You must migrate first one of the above the to RU6 MP3.

You must take the db backup before you start to migrate.

Now, Since you are carrying  Older version 11.0.4202.75

We recommend you to upgrade the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager and all clients to Latest version.

Since you are carrying older version than 11.0.6005 (RU6a), there would be 2 upgrades you will have to go through. Please check the steps below:
