    Hello all,

We are beginning the process of migrating all of our machines to Windows 10. We have our deployment resources configured and working with encryption and the latest update for new machines. However, we are looking for a way to update current Windows 7 machines in the field to Windows 10 but the encryption essentially stops the upgrade from going through. What we have found is that we need to decrypt the disk before upgradint to 10. This is not a feasible option for us because we have so many computers in the field currently running Windows 7 and 8. Is there a solution to this as of yet?

    Thanks for all the help,

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your query on Symantec community.

All drives protected by SEE - FD need to be decrypted and then SEE software uninstalled completely before attempting any OS upgrade.

Drives protected by Removable Storage do not need to be unencrypted, however, SEE - RS and Framework still need to be uninstalled.

Refer this guide: Can the operating system be upgraded when Symantec Endpoint Encryption is installed?
