I previously WDE a USB hard drive and all worked fine for some time. At start-up I entered the password and the drive showed in Explorer.

Currently when I coonnect the drive I get a beep that normally means the device has connected to the computer but there is no request for the encryption password and the drive consequently does not appaear in Explorer.

Is there a way fo 'kick' starting the mounting process?

If you have the USB drive connected at boot up, you may want to try connecting it after boot up, or vice versa.  I'm guessing that you have already tried accessing it in Computer.  You may want to try accessing it from another computer with PGP installed.  The drive may be going bad, so if you do get access to it, you might want to immediately back up all data on it.

Run the DriveLetterView tool ( some info at : USB Swiss Army Knife: Change Drive letter assignments ) , it can be helpful to identify additional info for this usb drive for the troubleshooting.
