This issue has been solved. See solution.

I have HP EliteBook 8560p notebooks on a docking station on a HP docking station.

Notebook has WIndows 7 professional and the Symantec SEE version is 8.2.0

After the SEE 8.0.1 was installed, the usb keyboard and mouse would not work during boot up to login to SEE console so I would have to open the laptop and use the laptop keyboard to log in.

I was told that the solution was to update the SEE to 8.2, which I did.. but after installing 8.2, it still is not recognized.

I've upgraded the BIOS to the latest version of available from HP.

Please help!!!

Thanks,

Same here

I'm having the exact same issue.  8560p will not respond to an external keyboard in Pre-Windows logon after SEE is configured.  SEE 8.2 is installed.

however PS/2 keyboards and mouse works

It's just too bad that almost everyone in our office has USB keyboards and mouse.

I've even tried attaching PS/2 adapter for the Microsoft USB keyboard.. no luck.

Solution found.

Spidertech,

I just talked to a Symantec tech support and found a solution.

You have to create a new Hard Drive Encryption package and this time create a Hardware Specific profile, and check the box for USB 2.0 and install that version. and now my USB Keyboard and Mouse works during SEE login screen.
