I'm very new to workflow.  I have been able to create forms and create resources on the SMP using the forms data.  So far I'm either using a sign on page or a static user name and password.  Is there some way to use the existing credentials in Workflow?  Something like a single sign using using the cached credentials.

Well once you've published a project to the portal when a user launches the project it will use their PM portal credentials. As far as for authorizing against the SMP you can configure your projects to use the SMP credentials saved in Credentials Manager.

Thanks for the reply!  I may not fully understand your reply.

Editing permission for resources in our environment are scoped by location; each user has access to edit resources in their location.  If I use a single credential when accessing the SMP, I think it would allow one to work around the resource scoping.

Would I need to enable a check that verifies the current user has access to the resource?  It would be really nice if I could capture the current credential and pass them to the SMP without requesting credential in a form.

I'm aware of no way to do this. The component to setup the connection to SMP requires the user's domain credentials. Since WF has now way of automatically capturing the user's password and making it available to the component without first asking for it.

Thanks!  I didn't think there was a way, but figured I'd ask.

This actually is possible. I've done it before. That being said, it is a huge pain. If you can work around it then don't bother trying. If not, contract a partner with advanced workflow specialists and get a quote to have this written for you.
