  • 1.  Use a single image for multiple SMPs in hierarchy.

I was wondering if anyone has tried to utilize one prepared and captured windows image for multiple notification servers.  So our current environment, we have 1 parent notification server and 4 child notification servers utilizing hierarchy & replication.  Currently, we build 5 seperate images and upload them to each NS or directly on the parent depending on our needs.

I was wondering if its possible to redirect the agent durring winpe after the image was deployed but before booting to it.  We actually use to edit the old DS 6.9 agent right after the distribute disk image task.  When the machine booted up, it was now pointing to the correct DS.  This let us use one image at multiple locations, huge time savor but I am not so sure this is possible with the new agent, thoughts?

Our current invironment is 7.6 HF5 and any help or ideas are greatly appriciated.

What about using the sysprep process to redirect the Agent?

How would you go about doing that?

    Sorry for the delayed response.

In each of your sysprep files for each image, you can run the following command:

    "C:\Program Files\Altiris\Altiris Agent\aexagentutil.exe" /Server:[FQDN of SMP]
