Is it possible to use worm and normal tapes in the same backup job?

Thanks for your support.

Best regards.

Refer to    which states.....

When you select the option Use Write once, read many (WORM) media, Backup Exec confirms that the destination device is or contains a WORM-compatible drive, and that the WORM media is available in the drive. If WORM media or a WORM-compatible drive is not found, an alert is sent.

Ok, thanks.

So i select the option "Use Write once, read many (WORM) media".

But if i only have 2 worm tapes and 2 normal tapes, that same job will continue?

CraigV's picture does this answer the OP's question? It defines WORM media and how it is handled.

While you did sort of answer the OP's question later, this doesn't.

Alternative ways to access Backup Exec Technical Support:

No.  It is not possible to use a mixture of WORM and normal disks in your job.  You either use WORM or normal disks.

Why would you want to mix the different tape types anyway?

Because i must run the job, immediately, and i don't have suficient tapes...

Any suggestions???

Either use sufficient WORM tapes or uncheck WORM option and use sufficient normal tapes.

Use normal tapes for your job. When you get sufficient WORM tapes you can duplicate the normal tapes to the WORM tapes
