  • 1.  User has to reinput email address at software portal

    I have a handful of users that are saying that everytime they go to the software portal they have to re-input their email address.  Is there something that is causing this?  I didnt see anything pop in log viewer the last time they visited the software portal.  Any where I should start looking in particular?

    Hi,

     

    Is it possible that Active Directory import is scheduled on the NS? If it is scheduled, then potentially information which user enter in Software Portal overwritten by information from Active Directory (which is now considered to be a source of truth).

    We recently migrated our mail services and that information is currently not being imported in to our active directory.  Looking at the AD import, I can't deselect email.  What field should I select for the email option... "null" or "empty" if I want to maintain what the user inputs and not replaced by the blank AD import?

    At the moment there is no possibility to disable only email addresses import from AD and as I already mentioned AD information is currently treated as source of truth in terms of all user related information. So if you perform regular imports from AD, then the only reliable way to fix this problem is to enter email information to AD. BTW - in this case SW portal users will not even see the registration form which they see now when enter portal for the first time. Information retrieved from AD will be used instead.

    It would be great to able to select individual compononents imported from AD rather than a one-size-fits-all solution.  We currently dont have access to import the address in to AD so at the moment they are blank and overwriting the user input field with a blank address if what you are saying is true.

    I agree. I have provided this idea to Product manager responsible for Active Directory import functionality and he added this enhancement request.
