user info made public

Hopefully this is a simple as me missing a check box....
In my profile set up it asks me to enter a valid email addess--- "A valid e-mail address. All e-mails from the system will be sent to this address. The e-mail address is not made public and will only be used if you wish to receive a new password or wish to receive certain news or notifications by e-mail."
However when I googled myself earlier on something else. My email address and profile page are given as a result. How exactly does " The e-mail address is not made public" mean we will make your email address and profile available on the Google?

Was the email address actually visible on the Google results page, or only after you clicked your profile? The Profile tab is only visible when you are logged in to your SymAccount. For example, if you click my name above it just shows you my picture, "Member since" info, # posts in each area, recent activity, etc. Try performing the same search on a different machine (where you haven't logged into Connect/SymAccount) and see if you get the same results.

No Connect hits on Google
Hi Marc,
Please let us know where you're seeing this on Google.
I just Googled your email address (I have access to it since I'm an admin) and I did not get any hits on Connect.
I did get some results that pointed back to the New Jersey Department of Transportation site and the Configuresoft Customer Forum.
We take this stuff seriously so please report back if you can confirm Connect information on Google.

On google, if you search my name, and go to page no.3 you will find this as one of the URLs provided for my profile in connect:
98.129.119.162/connect/user/aniket-amdekar
Could that be a vulnearbility, exposing the IP of connect servers in a search result?
If I chekc my user name,
If I chekc my user name, I don't see any personnal info.
